OnTrial is a first of its kind software that allows Clio users the access to order private investigation services directly from their open matters. From trial, litigation and defense cases to business, family law and consumer attorney investigations, OnTrial is the first single service portal for the investigative needs of attorneys using Clio, backed by the experience and expertise of a trusted best-in-class investigations firm, Justice Solutions Group.
Signing up for OnTrial is easy. Just go to getontrial.com and fill out the enrollment form. A client services manager will follow up with you to go over any questions you may have, get a client agreement signed through DocuSign and billing arrangements taken care of. After that, you’re ready to start ordering investigations services with OnTrial!
While OnTrial works best with Clio (because it automatically syncs with Clio matters), it’s not needed to use all of the investigative services OnTrial offers. Just enroll at getontrial.com and our team will get you set up.
OnTrial’s mission is to provide accurate and reliable cloud-based private investigation services to Clio users and attorneys, nationwide. By doing this, we will seek to level the playing field of law by giving access to attorneys requiring quality investigative services, regardless of the size of the firm.
OnTrial can provide users with a range of services including subject locates, background reports, asset reports and surveillance. Refer to your Client Service Menu for the most up-to-date services available.
OnTrial is an easy to use and reliable private investigations service that syncs directly to your Clio account. Do you need to locate someone? Need a background or asset report on a subject? Surveillance on a claimant or defendant? We have you covered. OnTrial is all of your investigative and intelligence needs in one place, in one app, syncing seamlessly with your Clio account and backed by Justice Solutions Group, a leader in the investigations industry.
Our primary client base is trial, criminal defense, business, family law and insurance. While we do accept certain plaintiff and consumer attorney clients, those cases are currently limited to locates and fact-finding only. We reserve the right to accept or refuse assignments on a case by case basis, regardless of if the user is an approved OnTrial customer.
There are no monthly fees for OnTrial - Users are charged only for the services we provide based on the current Client Services Menu, which are either fixed-rate services or by the hour services, and always pre-approved/confirmed by email before approving work.
Typically, services are non-refundable once confirmed with the client by email. In certain cases OnTrial may apply refunds/credits in situations where surveillance needed to be terminated early, etc. Please direct any questions you have to your client services manager.
OnTrial is currently available in California (our home state), Canada, and the following states: ID, MI, PA, RI, SD and WY. By 2020, OnTrial will be fully licensed and prepared to provide services in eleven other states: TX, FL, MI, NJ, MA, PA, NC, SC, CO IN, and AZ. By June 2020 we intend to be licensed and operational in all fifty states. Private clients outside of the US or Canada are accepted by Justice Solutions Group outside of the OnTrial system on a case by case basis.
OnTrial is owned and operated by Justice Solutions Group, a comprehensive licensed private investigations firm based in Orange County, California. Justice was founded by two brothers, Josh Chandler and Tyler James in 2015. Mr. Chandler is a former officer with the DOD, co-founder and CEO. Mr. James is a US Navy Veteran. They have known each other for 15 years when Josh became Tyler’s ‘Big Brother’ through the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
OnTrial’s web-based app is in beta and has been developed to function as a desktop application first. We’re continually maximizing the mobile experience and intend to provide an independent mobile application solution soon.
Yes, we check for conflict. In the case where one firm may retain us to investigate a matter involving another firm’s client, we defer to the originating client for service. Subsequent matters may result in the opposing firm retaining us; however, we base our case acceptance on a matter by matter basis.
At OnTrial, security is our number one concern. Our application is private, available to active attorneys and their staff only, and all clients are independently approved for use of the ordering system. All orders are confirmed by email prior to work being completed.
All of our information and intelligence follows the FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act) and GLBA (Graham Leach Bliley Acts), as well as all federal and state regulations.
For smaller firms, the credit card(s) your firm has on file with us will be billed as a retainer prior to any other work being completed whether fixed-rate or retainer.
For larger firms, we offer Net 15 terms. Please contact us for more information.
We do not provide insurance trace information at this time.
While accurate, financial intelligence cannot be used as “evidence” as it is intelligence-only and not evidence obtained by a direct warrant or subpoena. Clients will need to use any financial or insurance intelligence we provide to properly subpoena other parties (banks, financial institutions, etc.) as necessary to obtain information to be used as evidence.
Absolutely. We’ll set your firm up with whatever custom billing solution is needed. Multiple credit cards? Users? Locations? We have you covered. Our client services department will handle any and all billing questions/issues for you.
OnTrial and its parent firm Justice Solutions Group will answer all subpoenas. While our goal is to provide intelligence and substantiated evidence in a format that is accepted by the Court and readily un-challenged, on rare occasions our agents are asked to testify or be deposed on behalf of the intelligence we have gathered. In those rare cases, clients will be required to retain any/all investigators at the current testimony/deposition rate stated in the Client Services Menu as well as cover any expenses as needed for investigator(s) to provide testimony.
No question is too big or small for our clients, and we believe in personal service. Just call us at 800.278.9329 between 9am and 5pm PST or Contact Us Here. We’re here to help!
